REAL BLOOM BRIDE: LARA

Look at us, back again so soon! I’ve got Lara and Max’s gorgeous South Coast wedding for you all today and Lara’s experience was a little different to most of our Bloom brides so I wanted to share!

Lara is Sydney based and only came to see us once for our first Bloom x Danielle Frankel pop-up at Pier One Sydney! Lara was so confident on almost every aspect of her wedding so read on to see more of their day.

THE PROPOSAL:

Sitting on her least favourite Ikea chair on a typical night at home, Lara watched on as Max downed a beer to calm his nerves and then drop a knee. Even after 10 years together, the proposal still came as a surprise with the most beautiful solitaire ring from Katie Law Jewellery. Safe to say, the hated chair is the new fave now!

THE VIBES:

After the proposal in June, Lara was all over the planning with venue viewings ready to go for July. As you’ll soon read on to find out, if Lara and Max feel like they love something, they don’t question it. So the first venue they visited, the stunning Greyleigh on the NSW South Coast, was an immediate yes for them.

And looking at this venue, how could it not be? Set on over 200 acres and established originally as a working dairy farm in the 1800s and since restored, Greyleigh has the most beautiful luxurious vintage feel overall.

Lara looked for vendors that had a similar style to her, feeling comfortable and confident in her decisions allowed her to give them complete creative control!

THE DRESS SEARCH:

Lara’s search started like most people’s - deep diving tik tok. As soon as she scrolled on to a bride walking down the aisle in the Danielle Frankel Sasha - a pearly silk charmeuse halter gown - she knew she had stumbled on something she could really love.

Jumping straight on to good ol’ Google, Lara found us as the exclusive Australian stockist of Danielle Frankel and reached out immediately to confirm we had Sasha available in our studio (which of course we do!), she was just about to book flights to visit us in Brisbane when we surprised her with the news that we were heading to Sydney for our very first Bloom x Danielle Frankel pop-up!

Lara was one of the first brides we met in Sydney and her excitement at finally seeing the gown she had loved for so long was so special to see. Our gal definitely knows what she wants, and didn’t try any other gowns on, deciding to stand in Sasha for her entire appointment! When you know, you know…

THE GOWN:

Lara wore the Danielle Frankel Sasha. With handkerchief grosgrain ribbon covered edges and side button detailing, Sasha is not your typical silk slip gown. Lara finished her look with the Kait Grace cathedral soft tulle veil.

AN ABOVE AND BEYOND VENDOR WAS: Lara’s brother, Jake! Something both Lara and Max wanted from their day was to have their friends and family involved as much as possible so the couple asked Jake if he would marry them.

Not realising that becoming a celebrant was quite a journey, Jake put his head down and completed the 8-month course just in time for the wedding! Lara highly recommends asking someone super close to you to be your celebrant - just warn them about the time commitment!

WE’RE STOKED WE… got married! As easy as it sounds, Lara said the feeling of walking down the aisle, being surrounded by everyone they loved and being pronounced as husband and wife (especially by her brother!) was one of the most euphoric she’s ever had. You can’t beat that!
